the mystery of the guerilla gardener is now solved. one of my favorite shallow pots has been returned and look, this person i’ve never met felt bad and gave me some new herbs. i can now stop being unhinged by the episode and stop wondering if i need to smash my dumb neighbor’s cactus in retaliation. the dumb neighbor didn’t do it, but i had my suspicions.

thank goodness my neighbor mike lets me use his stoop. that old sink had to go as a planting spot. originally, i rooted my honeysuckles there, but it doesn’t drain well. i removed the soil in order to store broken pottery shards, rocks and bricks. Those are used to cover the hole at the bottom of the planters or to help make the plumeria stand up straight.

despite my tag, my garden does not kick ass. i need to put some major work into it. that said, my honeysuckles that i rooted ages ago are blossoming. honeysuckles remind me of virginia and there ain’t nuthin’ wrong with that.

the jasmine is blooming and there is nothing more intoxicating than the smell of pink jasmine. it is far superior to star jasmine in my opinion.

sometimes i miss my family so much that i actually ache. since i got my family fix a couple weeks ago i’m not really aching, but i am super jealous that my mom went to the farmer’s market today and bought a bunch of plants. that was my intention today. it’s the 3rd week in a row that i’ve missed the market. instead i’m doing garden prep work which includes getting pots ready and fertilizing. my neighbor daniel admonished me about the snail massacre and refused to believe there was any correlation between my love life going to the crapper and the snail infestation. he’s such a know it all. he also thought my ironing board table was anti feng shui. my only response is anything that makes joy pour out of me like that is a good thing. martha would fucking agree.
