I just love the beginning of this story. The tone makes it sound like the guy was taking his pets for a visit to a butcher shop instead of the one way trip it really was.

finally finished the tiger’s wife. it’s a good read. very mystical and interesting and written by a young 25 year old. seems like it would make a good movie. it took a long time because i’m reading a bunch of books including swamplandia! and last night at almost one in the morning i downloaded a free sample of the marriage plot: a novel by jeffrey eugenides. so far it’s awesome and i plan on reading it in hawaii. it starts out in rhode island which instantly captured me because of course, i have a thing for rhode island and my younger sister lives there.
“if it was in your front yard it would look a lot longer.”
this is video is compliments of my younger sister and is filed under one of my favorite tags, grrrranimals.
2010 was full of highs and lows. Low points included my Grandmother passing away, worrying about losing my job all year, being physically threatened by the maintenance man and breaking up with this dude I was in love with. He wasn’t ready for anything real and when we broke up it felt something like this. Of course, the best part of 2010 was the arrival of my kitties Porkchop (Lamb) and Brookliner (Brooklyn). I love my girls and I hardly remember what life was like before they were here.
subject: this is how much nothing is going on in Rhode Island
…there is an article about Marisa’s cookie party. Jesus christ.
it’s very unfinished. even so, it’s much better.

Hammock and JN on the bay. I had to throw myself on the hammock. Harder than it looks.
Backyard at JN’s Mom’s house in Warwick, Rhode Island. Simply gorgeous.
This is a yellow finch I snapped a shot of on The Cliff Walk in Newport, Rhode Island. I got some good hikes/walks in while I was back East.
